Why She Can't Stand It

So in the third book when Katniss finally gets Peeta back she finds out that he has been brain washed to think she is the enemy. This kills her inside and she becomes even more of a introvert than before. Why is this true? This is because throughout the novels Suzanne as been developing this romance between them and in this relationship Katniss wears the pants. She is the person that provides for them both but Peeta is the strong and steady person that Katniss needs in her life. This shows Katniss's point of vulnerability which makes her really angry and is one of the reasons she distances herself from the entire star-crossed lovers idea because she does not want to become dependent on anyone. This is why she is always off on her own and never letting anyone too close to her because they always seem to either let her down or get themselves killed.
